One corner at a time

By early August, the slow accumulation of clearing, mowing and maintenance was beginning to show. A paddock edge opened up, access became easier to read and parts of the property that had felt crowded started to breathe again.

There is no dramatic before-and-after moment here. Most progress at Riverdell is a collection of ordinary jobs: picking up, cutting back, moving materials, checking gates and deciding what should stay exactly as it is. The work is less about making the farm polished than making it safe, useful and welcoming.

Each cleared corner helps us understand the next priority—better campsites, simpler arrivals and space for the farm to keep evolving without losing its wild character.
