What we have come to love

We’ve come to love the ordinary moments here: coffee outside, birds in the trees and the sound of Cabbage Tree Creek while we get on with the day. There’s always work to do on the farm, but sitting by the water is a good reason to stop for a while.

That’s what we hope people find when they stay at Riverdell. Our eight campsites are spread across 28 acres, so there’s room to settle in and enjoy being outdoors. Bring a book, put the kettle on or take the dog for a walk. You don’t need a full itinerary.

If camping isn’t your thing, the cabin offers the same creek-and-forest setting with a proper bed, kitchen and private bathroom. Either way, we’d suggest leaving an afternoon free and seeing where it takes you.

A little preparation helps: bring drinking water, warm layers and a torch. Our creek and tap water is untreated. Keep dogs leashed in shared areas, supervise children near the water and check the current fire rules before lighting a fire.

The things we enjoy most here are pretty simple. We’re glad we get to share them.
